JOHN BOYK for Trustee

John and his wife Jennifer moved to Round Lake to enjoy the community’s open spaces, public transportation access, welcoming neighborhoods, and housing value.

From the start, John’s passion for helping neighbors and improving the village inspired him to get involved. He believes that if you want to create change, you must roll up your sleeves and make it happen.

With over 45 years of experience as a District Operations Manager/Director, John has brought valuable commercial expertise to Round Lake through various leadership roles, including:

✔️ Serving over 5 years on the Planning and Zoning Commission

✔️ 2 years on the Liquor Commission

✔️ 2 years as a Village Trustee

Some of John’s proudest accomplishments as a Trustee include:

✔️ Voted against the Ski Hill proposal as a member of the Planning and Zoning Comission

✔️ Revoking the lease renewal for the CHDS dump

✔️ Researching and voting on ordinances that support both residents and businesses

In addition to his village experience, John’s background in HR, budgeting, zoning, and planning – including negotiating for the construction of stores and clinics – has strengthened his ability to serve Round Lake more effectively.

John is proud of the progress he’s helped bring to our Village as an active voice working to shift the old mindset from “this is the way it’s always been” to “how can we grow and improve together?” He’s excited to continue bringing this forward-thinking approach to the community with you and the Round Lake Forward Slate.
